Biography

Olga Lobanova was born and raised in Kazakhstan. By education, she is a fashion designer and garment constructor. After she completed her university studies, she worked at the Kazakh House of Fashion, leading her to open her own business in 1991, where she created beautiful clothes for prestigious stores in Almaty.

Olga emigrated to Australia in 1995 and started her sewing and tailoring business soon after. Over 30 highly renowned clothing stores collaborated with her business, including high-end luxury labels such as Gucci, Prada, Armani, Alexander McQueen, Chanel, Burberry and more.

In 2020 when the whole world went into quarantine, Olga decided to pick up a brush and start painting. It was a lifelong dream that she never fulfilled due to a lack of time, but now she finds painting to be the greatest love in her life!

In her paintings, there is a riot of colour, humour, experiments and collages of various fabrics with which she has worked all her life and now combines different fabric textures in her artistic work. Even though she’s only been holding a paintbrush for two years, she is fearless in her expression and is constantly experimenting with her creative style and trying out different directions.
