Project Description
Regina George
Born In Australia
Regina George is an Australian born artist, living and working in the greater Melbourne area. Regina has studied art at Chisholm Institute and has found great joy in painting a variety of art from landscapes to portraiture. “Personally I love to create portraits that are interesting and a little bit quirky, I love to show a side of the sitter that is whimsical or humorous, life is too serious at times and finding a person’s joyful side and portraying that in art is a challenge that I desire. I also love to move outside the norms and push boundaries with some of my work portraying the darker side of human angst through shibari, an ancient japanese rope bondage that takes years of practice and skill to master, portraying such human emotions as Anxiety or Despair i often obscure the facial features and use the twisted motions of the human body to express the desired sentiment. I want my viewers to feel something deeply when they look at my artwork, whether it be joy or humor, or knowing they are not alone with their hidden darker feelings. Recently i began experimenting with a new style through abstract landscape, my intention is to portray the energy and vibrancy of the Australian landscape with bright colors that draw attention to the diversity of our beautiful country ” Regina does commision portrait work for individuals, families and children through Ryazanoff Gallery or her completed artworks can be purchased online through their website.
